Characters.
Over the break Ive sat down and watched all three LOTR movies.
Epics are an emotional thing to watch when it feels like you've been living one.
Something I realized is that there's a little bit of every character in everyone.
I realized this particularily at the end of the saga, with the phrase so fittingly applied "coming full circle." Some lines tugged at me.
Frodo:
"How do you pick up the threads of an old life? How do you go on, when in your heart you begin to understand, there is no going back?
Bilbo once told me his part in the tale would end, but each of us must come and go in the telling. Bilbo's part in the tale had ended. There would be no more journeys for him, save one.
The last pages, are for you Sam."
Life is just like this I thought. There are people constantly coming and going from our lives. Some leave abruptly, some fade away. Sometimes it is our turn, to be the faithful friend to finish the story, and other times it is we that need to be the ones to let go. Sometimes we are all of them at once. And in the end, we will all be Bilbo, coming full circle, being the beginning of the adventures and in a moment's passing embarking on the one that will be our last.
