Casi Cielo

Brittney is great at unconditional positivety. Being with her is casi cielo. haha I am her leader but she sure leads me an aweful lot. She is my friend and i learn so much from her. her laughter fills the part of my mind where the thunder meets the sand and the waves roll up on the beach. We stargaze there together. when I am with her i feel very young, filled with an awe of God that is hard to find in the adult world that ive found myself caught up in as of late. Maybe thats my problem, i need to get out of there.

She has me convinced that I can still do good things. i have been trusted to love and let myself be loved by a little girl, far too young to understand the depths of sin, but wholly grown enough to display the all-surpassing power of God that heals the everpresent flaws in these jars of clay. there are others in my life that do this as well. I am blessed.

My aunt is a potter, and is teaching me the true nature of what jars of clay are like. If the clay is wet when you notice a flaw, usually the only thing to do is completely start over (if she, the master of her little studio, cant help me salvage it). If the flaw occurs during trimming, or footing the pot when it is pretty dry, the flaws have to be made into something else, but in the end it makes the pot more beautiful. If you miss the foot and gauge the pot you can make strips or ridges. That kind of thing. Even if the pot is completely smashed after it is dried it can always be ground up for grogg, and even that serves a very important function. Everypart of the clay is usable and transformable at any moment.

so thats what this is talking about...

2 Cor 4:7:
But We have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; persecuted but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.

casi cielo. almost heaven.
